Ultrasound

The examination is based on the use of ultrasound emitted by a probe that is placed in contact with the skin, emits ultrasound that comes into contact with the organs and receives the response, which is transformed into an image. The examination is carried out lying down in a darkened room so that the images can be read more clearly. All solid organs can be explored using ultrasound: liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, uterus, ovaries, thyroid, muscles and breasts. Recommendations will be given depending on the type of ultrasound to be performed:

Abdominal ultrasound

  • Do not eat or drink for 6 hours before your appointment.

Pelvic ultrasound

  • You must present with a full bladder.

Breast, thyroid and muscle ultrasound

  • No preparation is necessary.
